DISCLAIMER: First things first. I am not the Xiao Yang of fried dumpling fame. I am not even Chinese, though two of my three wives have been Chinese and Chinese food constitutes a majority of what I eat. I am the author of several defunct and current web sites, blogs and message boards, all concerned with Chinese food. I also have posted to food discussion boards countless times, sometimes under the name "Gary Soup".

My "Xiao Yang" screen persona represents the expansive side of me, the side that wants to embrace and learn sabout all the cuisines of the world, especially street level, hand-held, populist cuisines.

OH, who AM I? I am a retired Transportation Planner in San Francisco with a lot of quirks and fetishes that include the Cities of Shagnhai and New York, xiao long bao and public transportation. I'm left-handed and was born in the Year of the Snake under the sign of Scorpio. Type O Positive, and I positively make typos, not to mention bad puns.
